Church Groups – Greenwood

Stay and Play @Greenwood

(suspended during redevelopment)

The group is run by members of the church who all have an extensive background in Early Years Education and childcare.  Together we bring many years’ practice of creating play experiences that combine learning and fun for children and parents alike.

We aim to provide:

  • A safe and caring environment which nurtures friendships
  • Activities and resources that encourage the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development of young children and their carers
  • Ideas and inspiration for activities to undertake at home to continue learning

We ask for a minimum donation of £1 per each person (adult or child)

.

Greenwood Ramblers

(still active!)

Greenwood Ramblers meet monthly on a Saturday morning. We have our planning meeting in January and any members can lead a walk. Our group is not all church members as over the years friends of members have joined us. We are a happy, friendly group. We are a group of 12 in total but numbers on the walks vary. We have slowed down compared to the pace we used to set; we go at the pace of the slowest.

We usually meet at 10 am and car share to the meeting point which is not more than 30/40 minute drive away.  Our walks are approximately 4 miles. We finish with a pub / cafe lunch where possible.

Cosy Community Hub

(suspended during redevelopment)

In cooperation with the Parish council Greenwood host a Cosy Community Hub between January and March.  Small friendly gatherings to chat, play games, do jigsaws whilst enjoying provided refreshments.  Usually  held on Monday mornings between 9am and 1pm and/or Tuesday afternoons between 2 and 5pm (please check with ‘what’s on’ to confirm)
