Ramblers
Stay and Play @Greenwood
Thursdays 10am -12noon (Term time)
The group is run by members of the church who all have a background in Early Years Education and childcare. Most of the morning is devoted to free play, outdoor when possible. A children’s snack of toast and fruit and a hot drink for adults is offered from10.30am. Tidy up starts at around 11.30am and a rhyme/story time is offered at 11.45am
We aim to provide:
- A safe and caring environment which nurtures friendships
- Activities and resources that encourage the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development of young children and their carers
- Ideas and inspiration for activities to undertake at home to continue learning
We ask for a minimum donation of £1 per each person (adult or child)
Greenwood Ramblers
Greenwood Ramblers meet monthly on a Saturday morning. We have our planning meeting in January and any members can lead a walk. Our group is not all church members as over the years friends of members have joined us. We are a happy, friendly group. We are a group of 12 in total but numbers on the walks vary. We have slowed down compared to the pace we used to set; we go at the pace of the slowest.
We usually meet at 10 am and car share to the meeting point which is not more than 30/40 minute drive away. Our walks are approximately 4 miles. We finish with a pub / cafe lunch where possible.
Memory Café
First Thursday in the month 1.30-3.30pm
The memory café is hosted by church members and facilitated by volunteers who have had professional experience of supporting those living with dementia. We provide a safe and comfortable space in which to chat, play games and enjoy a cuppa. For more information, please email stalbansurcgreenwood@gmail.com
